Water does not stop at the edge of a visible stain. Baseboards, cabinet backs, flooring layers and the ceiling below a leak can be affected differently. The assessment considers the water source, how far it traveled, the condition of each material and whether the wet area can be reached for effective drying. A stained ceiling and a saturated cabinet do not automatically need the same treatment.
Where materials can remain, the drying plan needs access to the moisture they hold. Where a material cannot be retained, controlled removal opens the affected area for the next stage. We explain those decisions as part of the scope so you can understand what is being removed and why. If suspect building materials may be disturbed, any necessary testing or specialist work needs to be resolved before removal begins.
